How it All Started

There are moments in life when you know you’re meant for something more, even if you can’t quite define it yet. After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Nepal, specializing in Marketing Management, I still felt that void. I loved strategy and business, but I was constantly drawn toward creativity, to films, writing, colors, people, and stories. I used to film little clips with my old Samsung phone, sometimes people, sometimes places, sometimes myself, simply because I loved capturing moments that made me feel alive.

In 2024, I decided to take a leap of faith. I packed my bags and left everything familiar behind to come to this beautiful, God-blessed country of Canada. I enrolled in the Broadcasting Performance and Digital Media program at Conestoga College, determined to start from scratch, to unlearn everything I thought I knew and create a life around storytelling.

Under the mentorship of industry professionals and multimedia journalists like Kyle Christie and Hayley Zimak, I learned how to bring stories to life, from conceptualizing and scripting to filming, editing, and presenting. I enjoy the creative control that comes with being behind the camera, finding great angles, framing emotions, and shaping them into something meaningful. But where I truly thrive is in front of the camera, connecting with people, expressing stories, and sharing the kind of energy that only happens when the lens starts rolling. Knowing both sides of production gives me a deep appreciation for the full creative process. It’s what makes me feel like a one-woman army, writing, directing, filming, and editing with purpose and joy.

Every video I produced during the program was selected to air on Conestoga College Digital Television (CCDTV), and the project received 100% positive feedback for its creativity and professionalism. This experience showed me the power of storytelling when it connects with a community.

My professional journey in Canada began at the Conestoga College Athletics & Recreation Centre, where I worked as a Communications Assistant. I covered campus events, orientations, and community stories that captured student life and engagement on social media, mainly Instagram. I created 11 short videos over four months that reflected the vibrant spirit of the campus. Before my contract ended, my supervisor, Rory Cooper, told me it would be difficult to find someone to fill my role, a comment that stayed with me and reminded me that passion and dedication truly make a difference.

Today, I work as an International Social Media Ambassador for the Conestoga College International Office, a role that connects my love for storytelling with my background in social media. I represent the international student community and create Instagram stories, reels, and photo content that reflect the experiences of students like me living and studying in Canada. I respond to inquiries from students across the world, collaborate on campaigns for Google Ads, and work with other ambassadors on social content for Instagram and YouTube. Every story I share feels personal, because it is.

To strengthen my digital expertise, I’m currently pursuing my second program in Social Media Management at Conestoga College, learning under experienced marketing professionals and industry experts. This program allows me to merge creativity with strategy, building a foundation for creating digital content that not only looks good but resonates deeply and performs effectively.

My creative strengths lie in video production, social media management, and digital storytelling, with growing expertise across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter). I’m passionate about using visual storytelling to build communities, represent authentic voices, and inspire meaningful engagement online.

At the heart of everything I do is creativity, connection, and intention. I believe stories have power, to inspire, to connect, and to leave a lasting impression. My goal is to help brands and individuals share their stories in ways that feel real, emotional, and unforgettable.

Let’s create something meaningful together.
